Yet, sometimes maintaining a healthy lifestyle long-term is difficult. Many times the changes we try to make end up being temporary, like bandaids so-to-speak, and the problems we thought we solved resurface and our goals are that much harder to achieve.

Group counseling offers guidance and support to individuals would like to lose weight and reduce their risk for developing disease. This group is designed for adults who would like to make lifestyle changes, but struggle with knowing what to do and where to start.

What makes you qualified to host this group?

In addition to being a Licensed Associate Counselor in the state of Arkansas, I am also a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Health Coach through the American Council on Exercise. Additionally, I have experience facilitating groups in diabetes prevention. Finally, I have undergone my own weight loss journey. Having lost 60 pounds, I understand living a healthy lifestyle is a choice we make every day. Some days are more difficult than others, but every day is rewarding.

Will you be prescribing meal plans?

As a Certified Health Coach and Personal Trainer, I have the skills to help you adopt healthier lifestyle routines. This includes adopting healthier eating habits. I am able to provide you general wellness and nutrition information. You will be tacking what you eat and as a group, we may talk about healthier food options. These are options you may or may not choose to consume. That said, I will not be prescribing meal plans. Detailed meal plans are only allowed to be prescribed by Registered Dietitians (RDs).
